G'day, Sarah from the Bureau with your weekly wrap
for Sunday the 10th of September.
Last week's rainfall was mainly confined to the far south and east,
with troughs bringing damaging winds to the southeast
and severe storms to the east.
However, this morning a chilly start with widespread frosts and
sub-zero temperatures across inland parts of southeastern Australia,
and a few light showers about the far southeast
and tropical Queensland coast in an onshore flow.
Moving into the week, unfortunately not a lot of rainfall on the cards
as high pressure dominates, apart from WA on Wednesday,
and temperatures rising in the south.
But tomorrow, more frosts inland for the southeast.
Otherwise, settled and clear for the majority,
as that high dominates, apart from those showers about the east coast
in an onshore flow and also across Tasmania.
Warm to hot for southern WA.
On Tuesday, the warming trend starts to spill into southeastern Australia,
with a few showers and the chance of dry lightning to southern WA.
Generally dry elsewhere
with showers about the east coast and Tasmania too.
On Wednesday a strong front pushes in from the west,
bringing gusty winds, showers and the risk of severe thunderstorms
and maximum temperatures 6-10 degrees above average right across
southern Australia to the east of that front.
More onshore showers for the east coast.
The front will slip southeast during Thursday,
with fine clear and sunny weather for the majority,
temperatures continuing to build across the south
For Friday, more of the same
with warm weather across the southeast,
cooler with showers for southwest WA
and showers easing and becoming more isolated
about the tropical Queensland coast.
And that's it for your weekly weather wrap,
we'll see you again next time.
Bye for now.
G'day
