The CEO of the company I previously worked for once said, 'Many of the world's leaders ultimately aim to eliminate the concept of individual countries. The municipal mergers happening in this country are the first step in that direction.' At the time, the country had just started implementing municipal mergers, and because I was still inexperienced (and still am to some extent), I couldn’t make sense of the book on municipal mergers that the CEO told me to study.
However, reflecting on recent global trends and the direction of technological advancements, I now think that humanity is striving toward uniting the world into a single entity, where assets and resources are shared collectively. But opposing forces, as well as current political, economic, and climate issues, make this goal difficult to achieve quickly. I believe that tools like the internet and AI are being developed to help resolve these problems as swiftly as possible, paving the way toward that vision.
